EPIC’s board of trustees is responsible for our governance and strategic direction. The board is accountable for everything we do. Our board is made up of people who have personal and/or professional experience of Bristol’s care system.
Rosie is passionate about young people being at the centre of decision making and supporting them to be heard through campaign and influencing policy. Rosie is care-experienced and has enjoyed working on different projects to help make services better for care-experienced people.
Richard (Tom) Thomas
Tom works for Barnardo’s HYPE carrying out participation projects with young people and health partners. Tom enjoys running in Ashton Court, playing music in two bands and making films in his spare time.
Peter MacNamee
Peter is a retired RN sailor who served for 23 years. He has 4 children and is a guardian for 3 children. Peter is passionate about young children doing well and having good memories.
Liz Small
Liz was involved in the founding of EPIC and has remained an active and dedicated member ever since. She is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for care-experienced young people. Outside of EPIC, Liz is well known for cycling around Bristol on her triple tandem.
Yolanda Munyira
Yolanda is a former Bristol City Youth Councillor. She is the Social Media Rep for this charity and a proud Trustee!
Mike Starr
Mike is a Dr of Philosophy (Social Work) and care-experienced social worker. Mike specialises in care-experienced young people’s acquisition of independent living skills and transitions from care research. Mike’s work focusses on the systemic barriers faced by vulnerable people accessing services, meaningful participation, and radical change.
Candi W.
Candi is a care-experienced community activist, author, and digital leader who works to create more equitable communities. She believes care-experienced young people deserve the world and is committed to helping others recognise their power and potential.
Jo Morrell
Jo has worked with young people in Bristol and Devon for over 35 years, and has a particular interest in how we empower care experienced young people. She also wants to bring her expertise of grant fundraising to Epic so that we can support more young people in Bristol.
Charmaine Edwards Lynch
Charmaine is an Executive and Leadership Coach, Keynote Speaker, and founder of Charm2Inspire. Her work focuses on leadership development, confidence, and helping individuals and communities strengthen their voice and influence. She has experience supporting leadership programmes and community initiatives that create opportunities for people to grow and thrive.
